CSO / Telehealth
Telehealth and POCT in one local platform
Advanced telehealth module collecting results from POCT equipment in the patient’s home or in professional settings such as emergency vehicles, ambulances and GP practices.

Local data
CSO is installed in the region’s own network with full control of the data

available on the Danish framework agreement – licensed by number of active patients
POCT
POCT data – at home and in professional settings
Patients at home
CSO can receive data from POCT equipment in the patient’s home in several ways, depending on what each instrument supports.
For instruments that cannot be connected to a network – such as CoaguChek – the CSO app communicates directly with the instrument, for example via Bluetooth. For security reasons, the instrument typically holds no patient data; CSO links instrument and patient.
Professional instruments
Professional instruments differ from home POCT in that they are used across many patients – for example in emergency vehicles, ambulances and GP practices.
CSO manages these instruments and can forward results to the relevant recipients – in the format each recipient needs.
The platform
CSO as the foundation for telehealth
CSO is a structured platform for handling events in patient pathways and their links to care units and clinicians.
- Specialised user modulesCan be equipped with modules for e.g. anticoagulation and telehealth – or act as a bridge between POCT equipment and the regional infrastructure.
- Control per treatmentA treatment concept controls which data is collected, shown and forwarded for each patient and department.
- Semantic codingHandles data with multiple nomenclatures.
- One installation – many departmentsThe same installation can support many departments’ POCT needs.
- In production since 2003In operation in Denmark and the USA.
Wearables
Wearable data in CSO
Data from wearables becomes part of the patient pathway just like other measurements – and stays in the region’s own infrastructure.
- Data stays localData is stored in CSO in the region’s own infrastructure.
- Semantics and nomenclaturesCSO handles the semantics of the collected data and can map between nomenclatures.
- Message brokerForwards data in the format and semantic coding that e.g. the laboratory database or EHR can receive.
- Local clinical databaseBuild a clinical database with wearable data – optionally combined with POCT, LIS and NSP data.
- Region-owned wearablesThe region can administer wearables lent to patients and circulate them over time.
- Patients’ own wearablesWith the patient’s consent, data can be collected from their own wearables via the CSO app.
- Local integrationThe CSO app integrates with instruments and wearables that can only connect locally, e.g. via Bluetooth.
Why CSO
A Danish platform already in operation
- Local dataCSO is installed locally in the region’s network with full control of the data.
- ProvenUsed in production and research projects in Denmark, the USA, Canada, the UK, Germany and Poland since 2004 – and integrated into the Danish health IT infrastructure.
- Fewer solutionsInstall CSO centrally and use the same installation for many set-ups across departments, treatments, POCT and wearables.
- Available on SKI 02.06Protects the region against unreasonable contract terms. Licensing is based on the number of active patients, so both small and large projects fit.
- Local Danish supplierIntraMed has developed and delivered solutions in Denmark and abroad for more than 25 years. Customers have strong influence on development, and local adaptations can be made quickly.
